Hadapt is an open source parallel Database Management System (DBMS) that offers both high-performance and scalability to satisfy the growing analytical processing demands of data-driven enterprises. Hadapt uses a hybrid of DBMs and MapReduce technologies to eliminate tradeoffs between performance and scalability in analytical data warehousing applications. Superior performance on structured data analysis is gained by using database servers deployed across independent machines while scalability and fault-tolerance are achieved using Hadapt to coordinate tasks and communicate between machines. Hadapt is distributed in two forms: (1) As free software available for download from Sourceforge and the forthcoming website, and (2) as a premium enterprise version that includes proprietary enhancements to performance and usability, as well as enterprise-level support.
